New Challenge at Bird is The Word Life/Live/Living

Hi everyone,

Bird is the Word has a new word for their challenge. You can use either "Life", "Live", or "Living".

Here is my take as a DT for Bird is the Word.
This title is called "Sweet Life". A picture of my daughter with her (pseudo)Hello Kitty cupcake made into a cake. She loves sweets..I used Webster's Pages Country Estate and sweet season paper, Basic Grey Nook and Pantry.
I also used one of my "tags" as part of the embellishment for this page. I found an old swirl chipboard and I used pearlized ink to paint the chipboard and add some dots to it.
Use this sketch as inspiration but it is not required. This sketch was done by Nadia.
Pls. visit BIRD IS THE WORD and check out the other Design Team Members pojects and get inspired. The winner of this challenge will get a kit from TIDBITZ IN TIME.

Design Team for Berry71Bleu

I would like to welcome and announce my new Design Team for Berry71Bleu. I am so proud to have these ladies designing for me. I hope you can stop by and visit their blog and I'm sure you'll fall in love with their creations the way I have.

They will reveal their first project on June 1st and I am truly excited to see what they will create for us using the tags I've made. We will also be having new monthly challenges and our talented DT members will surely inspire you with their ideas and breath-taking samples.

Here they are:

Lisa from Rhode Island

Lisa's BLOG

My name is Lisa a/k/a Raining and I am hopelessly addicted to the art of scrapbooking. As well as cataloging memories for my family I consider what I do to be scrap- art. I love taking a flat piece
of paper and packaged products and turning them into something beautiful and unexpected. I could devote my entire self to this art but alas I have a husband and two children. They are my primary subjects in my art and my life and do sometimes cringe when I mention the words "photo
shoot." I have always been a creative spirit and have delved into many different areas, sewing, rug
hooking and needle arts. I hope to inspire you to create with these beautiful and unique tags. I am honored to be a member of this wonderfully talented design team and look forward to
sharing my work with you!

Irit from Israel
Irit's BLOG

My name is Irit and I am an Israeli scrapper and crafter. In my real life I am a working dentist, a wife, mom of 4 and a very new grandma of one baby boy. I scrapped here and there for a few years, but I have done it seriously for the last 2-3 years. During this time I’ve made some huge progress. I have been a Design Team member on more than a dozen challenge blogs, and a guest designer on a dozen more. Currently I design for Best Creations USA paper company, Cheery Lynn Designs USA die company, Tando Creative British lazer cut company, Epyphany Crafts USA tool manufacturer , Scrap with V- Australian shop and I am a staff member and a contributing writer on SNR web magazine. I mostly scrap, but I also love altered art and card making. My style is shabby/vintage, but sometimes I try to change it a bit to a clean and simple one. You are most welcome to visit my blog and my Facebook page too, and add me as your friend. See you there!

Cassandra from Australia

Cassandra's BLOG

I'm Cassandra and have been enjoying the world of papercraft for 3 years
now. My favourite style of scrapping is vintage, distressed and using
anything old! I am a Copic Certified Designer and I also teach classes at
my local scrapbooking store. I get most joy out of creating Off The Page
projects that can decorate your home. I am happily married with two
Labradors for children :o) You may see them alot on my blog, so I
apologise in advance :o)

Lisa from Australia
Lisa's BLOG

Hi my name is Lisa Amiet and I live in sunny Queensland in that wonderful place we like to call
Australia. I am married to my wonderfully supportive husband and we have 2 children Brianna, who is 11 and Riley, who is 4.

I have always loved photography and of course I had to find something to do with all those pictures
and that is where I discovered Scrapbooking. This gives me a way to document all those stories behind the pictures I take...and I get to play with pretty stuff!! What more could a girl want.

The thing that I love most about scrapbooking is the lovely friends that I have made, and hopefully
all the new ones that I will make in the future. I’m not sure that I have a particular style of scrapbooking, but like to try anything at least once.

I am currently on the Design Team for “Bird is the Word” Challenge blog and am honoured to be chosen to be on the team here at Berry Bleu’s.

Tina from Australia
Tina's BLOG
I live in a semi-rural area just south of Brisbane, in Queensland, Australia, with my husband and two daughters (who of course feature on many of my pages).
I started, with an extremely basic form of scrapping, 10 years ago when my youngest daughter was born, re-discovered it a few years ago, and have been addicted ever since.
My inspiration comes from the photos, and the feelings that they envoke. My preferred genre is layouts, but I do enjoy cardmaking, OTP, stamping (mainly on layouts) and doing canvases. I love the creative process, and combining different techniques and textures.
My paper crafting style I would say is innovative, textured, and detailed. I have difficulty putting myself into one genre! I love shabby chic, but also do simple LOs, grungy LOs , and experimental/artsy layouts. It depends on the photos, time available, and where I'm scrapping (my layout tend to be simpler when I attend crops, because I can't take all my "stuff".I have taught layout, OTP, and card classes at my local scrapbooking store (Greenbank Scrapbook Shop) for the past two years. I have been published in a number of online magazines (including "Scrapbook News and Review", "Ready, Set, Create", & "Scrap'n'Art"), and in Australian Scrapbooking Ideas (Issue 3).
Currently on Design Team for Artfull Crafts,Scrap Passion Challenge International, and Paper Secrets.

I just want to announce the Design Team. We're all looking forward to their designs and fun challenges that we will be having here on this blog.

Welcome to all Design Team Members.
We will also have Guest DTs in June, July and August stay tuned for that.

Thank You Everyone!

I would like to thank everyone that applied to my design team. I had received so many applications from talented scrappers around the world. I am so appreciative that you have taken the time to apply and send me wonderful photos of your projects. I enjoyed browsing through your blogs and galleries.

Pls. don't be discouraged if you didn't get picked this time. I know it can be dismaying trying to get into a Design Team and trying to prove yourself that you can actually do it and that your work is good enough. I've been there and done that. I can only pick so many people and this was the hardest decision that I have to do lately in regards to my business.

This term is only for 3-4 months, so by August or September I would be needing new members again. I encourage you to update me with new projects you make as I am always looking for Guest Design Team Members. I am always willing to give people a chance.

It's so nice to meet all of you and I wish you the best in your scrapbooking journey. You can always email me anytime to send more photos of projects to be considered for the G-DT. My email is berry71bleu@gmail.com.

Thank you again. You're always welcome here. I will have challenges and giveaways starting next month.

I will announce the DT tomorrow. Remember, I'm always looking for a guest designer.

New Challenge at Bird is the Word Sun/Sunshine

New word challenge at BIRD IS THE WORD. The word this time is Sun/Sunshine.

As one of their design team member this is my take on the word Sunshine.
This is my daughter at a beach in Tulum, MX. She loves playing with the sand and it never bothers her if she has to sit out in the sun all day long as long as she's in the water.
I was going to use a mask on that corner but I ended up spraying more than I want, so I just covered it up with flowers.
I used Nadia's sketch for this challenge. I invite you to join the challenge and you can win a great RAK kit. Visit this BLOG for more information and to get inspired by the other talented Design Team Members.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to every mom out there. I am a mom of three and my kids bring the most joy in my life. Yup, they drive me crazy a lot of times..they worry me..they get me sick..they disappoint me..they make me mad..they make me sad..they make me cry.....But there is nothing in this world I'd rather do than being a mother to them.

This is my oldest son, Kevin. This was taken on the day he left for college. He is in Nevada, I am in Texas. There is not a day that goes by without missing him.

My 2 other children..Alyssa and Joshua. They keep me busy all day everyday.

And of course, I can't forget my own mother..Happy Mother's Day Nanay! Thank you for everything you do for us. We love you!

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts." ~Washington Irving

Sorry it took me a couple of days to post the winner. This weekend was super busy for me. I would like to thank everyone who submitted entries for April's challenge. You guys did an awesome job on your projects.
The winner of the vibrant challenge is Melissa from California. Annette came in 2nd with her entries.

Congratulations to Melissa!!!
Congrats to Annette too!!!

This month's challenge (May) is anything for Mom. It could be a project about you as a mom, your mom, grandma, aunt..or anyone you know that is a mother.
