Design Team Project Reveal!!!

Hey Folks!
Lisa here sharing my latest creation using Marivic's beautiful tag from her Berry Bleu etsy shoppe.
This is the top to a gift box that I altered. It's just one of those round cardboard style covers.

I plan to use this as a wall hanging. I covered the front with papers from Scraps the Elegance Vintage kit for February and combined them with this gorgeous tag! The outside edges were layered with white lace and punched paper.

I had some chipboard fleur de lis on hand and I covered it pink acrylic paint and dabbed white acrylic paint over it with a paper towel. I then stamped it with a script stamp once all the paint dried.

I enjoy working with these tags. They work on so many different projects from altered art, mixed media to scrapbook pages.

Thank you for stopping in and having a look. I hope this has inspired you to create something beautiful today!

Featured DT Member, Michelle Hodges

Today we are featuring our DT member, Michelle Hodges

I am Michelle Hodges and I live in South Texas. My husband and I have a
seven year old daughter. I'm a SAHM and I volunteer at our daughters school
and at church.
When I'm not scrapping I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors,
Church activities, and traveling.
I started scrapbooking twelve years ago and I started getting involved in
the online scrapping World right after our daughter was born!
My scrapbooking style is shabby-chic, artsy, simple with clean lines and
some vintage.

When I'm not creating tags, cards, or LO's I love to alter items, and create Mixed Media projects! I love to use misting, inking, paint and layering when I create! My DT time with Berry71 Bleu tags will soon be ending. I have really enjoyed creating with Marivic's amazing & gorgeous tags!
Thank you Marivic for being a part of your DT team!!

Below are some of my favorite projects creating with Berry71Bleu tags!!

Happy Friday!! Today I'm sharing a quick and easy flower tutorial using
paper scraps!

First you need to punch 2 circles out! I used a 2 inch size circle for my
petals. ( The larger the circle the larger the flower will be.) The bottom
circle can either be a little large as shown in Step 3 where you see the
bottom layer showing, which is the lighter outside green color. If you do
not want that bottom layer of flower shown you will want to use a smaller
circle to attach the final flower on top of.
If you would like inside petals of your flower to have a certain color or
pattern you will need to use double sided paper!

For Step 2 you will want to fold the outside paper inward like shown in the
picture. If you would like your inside petals to have more of a point than a rounded inside point to the petals, you will want to fold your papers more of a point at the bottom of your circle when you are folding the paper.

As seen in step 2. I would suggest practicing with your first 2 circles before you finish the entire flower when deciding how you would like your inside flower petals to look!

The final step in step 3 is to start attaching you flower on the outside
circle with glue or glue dots.
Depending on how you over lap each circle of your petals on the bottom
circle will depends on how large and how you would like your flower to look
when completed. I inked the inside of my petals since I did not use double
sided paper. You could always add glitter to the inside petals or leave them white or use the double sided paper before you start your project!
Here are two flowers I completed on this LO! I used double sided papers from Graphic 45 to create these two flowers!
The flowers are so versatile in creating your style the way you desire them
to look!

I hope I have inspired you to create some more flowers with using your paper scraps!!

Bonita Rose

My name is Bonita Rose and I’m a creative soul living on the prairies in Fargo ND. I love to inspire. I am a collector and lover of all thing vintage. I love thrifting! I make art. I play with color. I sew and play with paint, paper, and rubber stamps. I've been a paper-crafter and memory keeper for almost 20 years. Art and creating has always saved me. Always. Real books and reading are two of my passions. One day, I want to write my story and share my life with the world. Writing to me comes as easy to me as breathing. I am a noncustodial mom to my two fabulous teenage daughters. My dream is to one day, move down south with my husband Greg to Tybee Island, Georgia and live near the ocean. I'd love to open my own brick and mortar store and be a thriving member of the local arts community. One more thing, one can never have enough pretty paper and pretty things. Never.

We invite you to join this month's challenge being hosted by our talented DT, AYMEE GANDY

February Challenge

"In The Mood For Love"

February is the month of love! It's the time to snuggle up with your sweetie and share decadent chocolate treats as you romance the night away. This love filled month can provide ample inspiration for your crafting projects. Take a moment to look around you as Cupid spears your heart with his arrow and take note of all of the Valentine's decor'. Let all this lovey dovey art inspire you. For the challenge, we want to see a project centered around love. Your project can be a layout, card, altered art, home decor', etc. Your project must include the color 'pink' and at least one of the following: lace, buttons, bling, and/or glitter. Make us fall head over heels in love with your artwork! Hugs & Kisses! XOXO!

Here is my example for the project. I found this vintage muffin tin at a local thrift store for a whopping 49 cents! You could tell the tin had been lovingly used for years. After cleaning it up, I almost painted it. But then I saw all of the age that use over the years had left on the tin and I decided to leave it. I added various scrapbooking embellishments, including a gorgeous tag from Berry Bleu, to decorate the tin. I will hang this on my front door for the month of February.

Here is the prize that you can win:

This is open to anyone around the world. Entries must be linked up to the sidebar using Linky tools. We must received your entries by 2/29/12. If you have any questions, pls. email me at berry71bleu@gmail.com.

Thanks for stopping by!

Altered Valentine Box

Good morning everybody-TGIF!! It is my week for reveal here at Berry Bleu Pages And Tags, and I have created an Altered Valentine Box for my project.

I used some of my leftovers from my Scraps Of Darkness December Kit-Winter's Embrace, along with one of the beautiful Berry Bleu Valentine themed tags to create this box. I took a plain, paper mache heart box, coated it with gesso, let it dry, and then began layering everything on. First I took a piece of Bo Bunny paper and cut it to fit the top of the box, next I took some stash paper and cut it into an open heart and inked and distressed the edges. I then tore out a piece of corrugated cardboard and painted and inked it up, placed it onto the box, and then popped on the Valentine themed tag. These tags are so perfect for any project, they add instant beauty with all the work done for you.

I then popped on a few flowers, some inked up Bo Bunny chipboard pieces, a Dusty Attic Foliage piece that I painted and distress stamped, some metal charms, a button, and some Fushia Crush Butterflies from my Etsy Shop and the top was finished.

I inked the sides and lip of the lid, crackle painted the lip and then inked it pink. I then took some more corrugated board tore the edges, painted and inked it, then applied some Twinkle Trim randomly to add a little extra sparkle, and then glued the board around the box.

And there you have it! A beautiful box that is perfect for gift giving this Valentine's Day!!
