Hello Beautiful....by Marivic

Hi this is Marivic....I want to share with you my project using DecoArt paint. It was a little tricky making this project as I am now starting to like digital scrapbooking. So in this page I combined both..

I started with a paper from Kaisercraft from a paper collection called "Base Coat".
I used Deco Art stencil in the background.

Using DecoArt minipot paints. I added the paint to Golden Glass Bead gel. Until I am satisfied with
the colors. I used bright colors for Kay's challenge. I couldn't find my palette knife so I used whatever is handy at that moment...plastic knife. It actually gave the serrated effect and I liked it that way.

Here is the effect I ended up with.

Here is my background page.

And here is the detail of the challenge:

I'd like for you to base your project on someone that just brightens your life. That one person(s) that adds 'color' to your life--that gives your life meaning & makes it all worthwhile. It can even be a pet! Being an owner of one very lovable fur baby I know how much unconditional love & happiness a pet can bring into someone's life--so yes, even pets count & yes it can be more than one person! If that person(s) or pet puts a smile on your face--then create a project in their honor!  You do not necessarily have to make it a bright & colorful project--just use the photos as inspiration since they are all lively & joyful photos.

The challenge is to incorporate paint into your project.  You can use paint in many ways on your projects--to add texture to your backgrounds, to add random splatters of color, to color embellishments such as chipboard...let your creativity be your guide!

March Guest Designer, Olga!

Today we would like to welcome the winner of our February challenge and our guest designer for March, Olga Vasilyeva.

My name is Olga, I'm a scrapbooker from Russia. I have been making albums, cards & other projects for over 2,5 years now.  For me it's a way to unwind after a hectic day as I mostly make my projects at night. Now I mainly make layouts and cards as I'm a designer in several DTs (including Echo Park, Memory Box and Creative Creations) and love to participate in challenges of other blogs. I like different styles - American, shabby, vintage, etc. But I can't refer most of my projects to any particular style. Actually scrapbooking is just my hobby and I devote most of my time to my family. It is not very big. I have two sons and my lovely husband. My sons are 2,5 and 4 years old and my husband is 36. He works in a very big automobile dealer company. My husband always supports me and likes everything I do. My naughty sons never let me scrap when they are at home and don’t sleep so I have to create things only during their day or night rest. Before I go back to work I try to spend all of my time with my family: in summer we usually go to the seaside (we like the Red Sea), and in winter we go in for sports. We always try and take our children with us in spite of they are very small. My family is the most important thing in my life and I’m very happy to have it.

You can find more of my creations at www.olgavasilieva.blogspot.com

Olga created this beautiful layout for Kay's You Color My World Challenge:
This is a layout about two creatures which make my life really bright - my kids. On the photos they are sitting in a suitcase - their favorite place for playing "hide-and-seek".
My sons really make my life happy and each day bright so that I can't even imagine my life without them.
I love to use paints in my projects. Here I used watercolor - I've mixed several colors and got dark brown and jeans blue. I think that splashes help to connect the elements, add details to the composition and make it more complicated.

Thanks for joining us this month Olga!

My Sister My Friend . . . by Debbie

Hi everyone, Debbie here today with my project for Kay's March Challenge . . .
You Color My World.  Let's get creative and use some paint on our projects!
I made my first canvas, a gift for my sister.

My sister loves owls. I had held on to an old Kleenex box that had owls on it and cut them out along with some of the colorful flowers on the box to use on my canvas.

I enjoyed working with the paints that our sponsor DecoArt supplied us. I did a lot of stamping on my canvas and used paints rather then inks.

I used some of the blue Pastel Paint and watered it down to create my sky background along with some yellow Frosted Fun Paint to create the sun's rays. The hearts were stamped on using paint rather then ink and the purple dots were made using some bubble wrap painted with purple paint then dabbed on the background.

More stamping using the DecoArt paints.

Imagine... by Anupama Choudary

Hi there! This is Anupama here for Kay's March Challenge -
You Color My World!
And the subject of my project is
India...
Resplendent in infinite ways, it fuels my imagination,
inspires me & breathes life into my art!

I dressed Marivic's lush tag with jewellery and a tilak.

India is replete with colors from mystical whites to rich jewel tones!

Texture, texture, texture...
DecoArt stencils and masks work beautifully!

I used a combination of brush-on Glitter paint, Acrylics, Ultra Frost and Glamour Dust.

Tilak is worn on the Ajna Chakra, the centre of forehead - the point at which the third eye or the spiritual eye is believed to open.

You color my world by DT Agnieszka Bellaidea

Hi!
It's Bellaidea today with my new project for Berry 71 Bleu.
I have to admit I liked Kay's challenge "You Color My World"  from the very first moment she told us about it.
Great idea, cool photo, so many ways to participate.
I have "a thing" for air baloons so I just had to use one too.

Thanks to our sponsor, Deco Art I had a chance to use great stencil and lots of paints...
I do admit, I went crazy with colors:)
You can aslo see I played with gesso, stencils, stamps, flowers, lace , my own mists and embossing powder .
Do I have to tell you who colors my world?

Thank you so much for looking, can not wait to see your projects made for Kay's challenge!
