Fly high by Tusia Lech - January Things with Wings challenge

Hello :)

This is my first post in new year, so I would like to wish everyone an amazing 2015 year!!!

I created a layout for our January theme - "Things with Wings". I have included a butterfly, a bird, a feather, but moreover my whole layout is about flying - so very high to reach the dreams!!

I have used wonderful digi from our generous January sponsor by digital paper, that I printed at home. All the images of beautiful roses and hydrangeas come from this set.

As background paper I have used one from 7 Dots Studio - Soulmates collection. Flowers come from Zeus&Zoe etsy store.

Take Flight Canvas by Denise van Deventer

Hello Everyone

It's Denise here today, to share my "Take Flight" Canvas with you.

These pictures were taken on my 01st Birthday and I can imagine that I was innocent, happy and carefree and so excited about this first Birthday! 

Since the theme for January is Things with Wings, I wanted to incorporate this into my design, as well as my journalling.  I searched the internet for a verse and really loved this one that I found.

This is what the canvas is about and is also on the back of the canvas.

My brother was here over Christmas and he had just turned 40.  We had quite a philosophical conversation, where he asked me and my sister, what we were going to do with the next 40 years of our lives. It certainly made me think. I thought about how quickly these past 40 years or so have gone and how quickly the next 40 are likely to go and I don't want to miss a day of it...I want to make the most of everyday and find my wings. I want to fulfill my dreams and also do things that I never thought I could do!

I am sure that on my first Birthday that I had similar thoughts...about being a fairy princess and having wings to take me to faraway lands and places! ;-) So this is the philosophy behind my canvas! 

I used the beautiful digital coasters from by Digital Paper and really felt I could not cover them up and so kept them quite open, as my background papers.

I added texture with gesso and stencilling, along with some corrugated board.  I then added some water colouring and inking.

I used some really neat, artificial flowers and leaves that I had bought at our local Chinese market and they really do give fabulous dimension and depth. The chippie frames that I used are Dusty Attic.

I used a butterfly punch for the butterflies and these added to my theme.

THINGS WITH WINGS CHALLENGE - January 2015 - Baby you can drive my car - by Caroleanne Wright

Hi everyone, HAPPY NEW YEAR
Caroleanne here with you today to share my first layout.

The Pretty Paper Patisserie 

The challenge this month is THINGS WITH WINGS.

If you know my work you will know that I love butterflies, so this challenge is right up my street. I have also added a little bird, and two larger angels all of which I made from paper clay.

 I used the beautiful coasters from our sponsor,  called Old Coaster Digital Paper https://www.etsy.com/shop/bydigitalpaper

HERES HOW

Print out the digital coasters
 (7.5 x 7.5 inches x 1) + ( 3.5 x 3.5  inches x 5)
 Choose embellishments and plain cardstock 

Using paper clay, make two angels, one bird and some butterflies

If making flowers, make them now

Take a 12x12 sheet of blue cardstock for the background

Print out a coaster 7.5 x 7.5 inches

Matt onto a piece of white cardstock, 8 x 8 inches

Print out a photo 4 x 4 inches

Matt onto white cardstock 4.5 x 4.5 inches

Matt again onto blue card 5 x 5 inches

Print out five coasters 3.5 x 3.5 inches

Matt onto white card that measures 4 x 4 inches

Adhere as per my layout

Adhere the matted photo

Start to embellish by adding white flourishes as per layout

Add assorted flowers, butterflies, little bird, lacy leaves, angels and swirly pearls

Print out a title and adhere as per my layout

Write up some journaling, mine is hidden.

Love by Elena Lishchenko - January Things With Wings Challenge

Hey everyone! My name is Elena. This is my first layout for Berry71Bleu and it's really exciting for me!
This layout is about me and my husband.

I cut several flowers from the patterned papers from our sponsor digitalPAPERS use it as layers under my foto.
I also printed this paper on a napkin. I used this napkin to decorate some chipboard butterflies and my background in decoupage technique.

Play by Dana Tatar - January Things With Wings Challenge

Hi Berry71Bleu fans! Happy New Year! Dana here today sharing my take on the January "Things With Wings" Challenge. My daughter was a flying mermaid (her idea!) for Halloween this past year, so this theme was perfect for this photo of her in her costume.

I layered several beautiful floral prints from our sponsor digitalPAPERS under my photo. I also cut several flowers from the patterned papers to tuck into my flower clusters. I made several small epoxy charms with inchie prints.
