Take a Note - Canvas by Virág Reti

Hi Crafty Friends,

The monthly mood board and its vintage feeling is so close to my my style. I decided to prepare a canvas in brown and that wonderful turquoise colour. I used so many techniques on the background. First of all I really like to upcycle the frames of the paper tags so I glued them to the canvas. After that I steciled some patters and coloured the background. Behind the photo there are may layers of papers. The rustic effects was made with mica flakes and other grainy embellisments. Fort he last step I stemped some non-figurative pattern to the canvas.

I hope you like the result.

Here is the mood board I used:

Happy Boy by Päivi Jänkälä

I just love to make boyish layouts and got so inspirered to do one by this months awesome moodboard.

For my layout I have used papers from 7dots studio, chipboards from Blue Fern Studio and Creative Embellishments. The arrow shipboard I can not remember where it came from. Stencil is TCW.

The stencil I used together with acryl paint and Finnabairs Texture powder.

And here is this months moodboard.

Let your light show canvas by Marie Johansson

I found Laneens moodboard really inspiring and decided to make a canvas using crackle paste and lot of textures.

I used a stretched canvas from Canvas Corp that I covered with heavy white gesso, stamping, and crackle paste. To get the right rust effect I painted the edges of the canvas with Tattered Angels High Impact paint in the color Aqua before adding the crackle paste.

I also dry brushed on different shades of Glimmer Mists to add more dept to the rust effect. The finishing touch is the tulip from 7gypsies Architextures. The tulip comes from the Parchment Rub-on sheet "Grow", the is one of my new product loves! The sentiment was cut out from the packaging.

Don´t miss out to enter the challenge - and read below - there is a chance to win one set of the rub-ons if you enter two challenges!

April moodboard Challenge: "Everything old is new again."

Dear crafty friends,

Here I am with the new moodboard challenge of April;
"Everything old is new again. It is all about old-world glamour."

Because of my grandparents I am in love with old rusty vintage stuff, so I deciede to use my love for old rusty things for this month moodboard.

I have this great and gorgeous old vintage photography of James Dean. And love to use it for my layout to this moodboard. Found myself 3 pieces of gorgeous paper, but I couldn't choose. So derfor I decided to use all 3 of them. Tored the paper in different sizes of strips and layered them on the woodenboards. Aged it with some ink and rusty paste. And started to build it up in layers. I really enjoyed working on this one. So this is what I came up with: "Capture the Moment!"

If you wanne read and see more, please visit my blog: http://laneen.blogspot.com/2017/03/capture-moment.html

And of course also some close-ups of my "Capture the moment" layout.

Hope you are getting inspired by my mood board and with my take on the moodboard as well. So looking forward to all the gorgeous art you will come up with.
