First Haircut Layout by Kay

Good morning Berry71Bleu fans!  Kay here with my interpretation of this month's challenge.  The host for this challenge was Tracey & the challenge was handmade flowers.  There has to be at least one handmade flower on your project.  My layout has three!

This is my son getting his very first haircut.  The four photos showcase the journey of his haircut--the first photo was how he came in--the next two photos are snapshots that were taken during the haircut and the last picture is the end result.

I created a little slider box that stores a lock of his hair that I kept as a memento of his first hair cut.

The two flairs, circle chippies & circle stencil are by Um Wow Studio. I applied a bit of molding paste to the circle stencil in order to create some texture onto my background.  On a couple of the Um Wow Studio circle chippies I adhered tiny beads onto them with clear dry adhesive.
Here's the inspiration board that Tracey created for the challenge.  To see all the details for this month's challenge, go here.
The large purple marigold and the two vellum flowers were handmade by me.  The upper right hand vellum flower is a hybrid.  The bottom layer of the flower was handmade by me & I inserted a pre-made pink organza flower in the center.
This is the little box I made to store the lock of hair from my son's first haircut.
The box slides open--so I can take out the lock of hair which is stored in a small pouch whenever I like.
This is my version of a marigold flower.  I actually have a tutorial on how I make these flowers on my blog.  If interested, feel free to check out the tutorial here.
Both vellum flowers were created with stamps.  I stamped the flower images onto vellum with a permanent ink such as Staz On.  This is important--if a non-permanent ink is used, your image will smear.  For the particular flower seen on this close up, I stamped the image twice, cut them out & layered them with a pop dot in order to give it some dimension.  I highlighted the edges & center of the flower with Stickles & adhered a large clear rhinestone in the center.

Papers used are by 7 Dots Studio & the design of my layout is based on a sketch by Page Drafts.
