'Winter Birthday' Layout by Helen Tilbury

Hello there everyone!  HELEN here with my take on Vicky's 'White Christmas/ Winter' Challenge.  I went with the Winter theme as I have been wanting to
scrap these photos of my youngest daughter Cami and her best friend for ages.

She has a June birthday, which, in South Africa (where we live) is right in the middle of Winter.  She is a Summer girl and would love a pool party but this
year we took her out to her favorite restaurant for a delicious steak instead!

I used this awesome frame from Wycinanka, our December sponsor, and cut off the kitties with my craft knife, as I really wanted to use it on this layout that didn't fit the feline theme :)  I simply inked it up with Burnt Sienna & Dark Brown Color Box inks, lightly & randomly, to transform the frame to this grungy, mottled look.

We have NO snow where I live EVER as I live by the sea in a tropical climate!
In fact I have NEVER even SEEN snow in my LIVE except in photographs!!

I hope you like my 'Winter' page!  That's as cold as it gets in these parts :)

I went for lots of texture by using gesso, modeling paste with a stencil,
some netting & crochet lace & an awesome Manor House Creations
flower that is available in our Zeus and Zoe store HERE.

I know it's a busy time of the year for everyone but I do hope that you will play along with our December challenge "White Christmas/Winter".  Before I go I just want to wish everyone a blessed holiday season &, to those who celebrate it, a very merry Christmas!  And to everyone - a happy & prosperous new year for 2013!!
