I took inspiration from the beautiful and soft pinks and created this canvas.

This photo is of my husbands Grand Mother.  She was a beautiful lady! ;-)

Here's some close ups.

I used chippies and lace and also made some of my own layered flowers.

Crackle paste, distress inks and spray inks were used for the background.

Special Guest Designer - Michelle Frisby

Hello Everyone

We have a super duper, fabulous and creative lady here on the blog today! ;-)
Welcome, lovely lady, Michelle Frisby! ;-)

Let me introduce myself.

My name is Michelle Frisby and in the online world you might also know me as Mrs Frizz.

I live in New Zealand and I tell people that I live close to the bottom of the world and it's true, I really do.

I love creating with paper, flowers, mists, paints.  When I'm not at work, I'm quite happy being at home in my scrap room or my extended scrap room [ssssshhhhhhh!!! as in taking over the kitchen and dining room bench].  It's my happy place and space.

I have the privilege this month of Guest Designing for Berry71Bleu and playing, oops I really should say creating, with their gorgeous mood board.

Seriously look at that stunning mood board – inspirational.  Truly.

I didn’t know where to start, I had so many ideas swirling around in my head.

The texture, the mask, the gondola's.

First off, the mask - I had to create something with a mask and so I did! ;-)

A close up...

and another one...

I really did have a blast.

Let's say that I had "dirty fingers" for days.

After I finished my mask I still kept thinking about the mood board.

My husband and I were lucky enough to visit Venice in September 2013 and boy-oh-boy
looking at this mood board really was like taking a walk down memory lane.

I would also like to share a canvas which I created for this challenge.

A close up.

Another close up showing a little more of that texture (distress crackle paint) on the mask.

A huge thank you to Denise and the team at Berry71Bleu for the opportunity to Guest Design this month!

Fun, fun fun!

Happy creating everyone! ;-)

Torn Angel by Marie Johansson

I absolutely adore the Challenge VirĂ¡g crated for us! I love the colors, the textures, the pictures, the history - well - as you can hear - all of it!!! I was inpiered to do something experimental. I took this clothes stand from my daughters outgrown toys and started to play.

I added layers of paint and tissue paper. First dark copper paints, then golden, whites & silver.

Black Glass glitter add even more texture.

The wings is a piece of chipboard that I stamped on with a Finnabair texture stamp and FlitterGlu from IndigoBlu. By applying MegaFlakes (also from IndigBlu) I got the crackled gold/copper effect. You will find more details about the products used in my blog.
