All About Mom - May2015 Challenge by Kay

Welcome to May Berry71Bleu fans!  Kay here hosting this month's challenge.  For this month I felt that mom & the concept of motherhood needed a well deserved tribute.  In several parts of the world, including the United States, May is the month where we celebrate Mother's Day.  With this in mind--the challenge for May is: 

All About Mom - Pay tribute to your own mom or create a project based on your own thoughts & feelings about being a mom.

The mood board was created with several thoughts & quotes on mom or motherhood along with photos that I felt represented the bond between a mother & child.

So here I am with my own little guy.  He's my one & only & I can't even put into words how complete he made me once he came into this world.  There's not one day that he doesn't make me smile or forget about my worries.  All he has to do is hug me & all my stress is gone.  I still find it amazing to see a little part of me running around--he's got my eyes, my sense of humor & my wit.  He's a small version of me & he encourages me to stay young at heart & reminds me of the innocence of child hood on a daily basis.  

Being a mom is a very fulfilling emotion mixed in with anticipation--since I wonder daily about the man he's going to grow up to be--joy, love & a pinch of fear since I worry daily if I'll be equipped to get him adequately prepared for all the obstacles, ups & downs he'll encounter along this long journey we call 'Life'.

For my layout I've used papers from the 'Classique - Beauty' collection by Authentique.  The collection consists of grays, blacks & yellows--I added the red to give my page a bold splash of color.

I've incorporated a few square chipboard pieces by Um Wow Studio as embellishments.  I left the chipboard pieces bare because I felt they coordinated fine with my page--these chipboard pieces can be altered to your liking if needed.  They can be heat embossed, painted, misted, glittered...etc...

I chose this saying 'forever & more' because it represents how long I plan on being there for him.  Even when he's old & gray--he'll still be my little guy.  :-)

This butterfly embellishment is hand made by yours truly.  This is a tid-bit from my Etsy shop & is part of the 'Sentiment on Wings' collection.  I felt that the saying 'You are my sunshine' was so very appropriate for the theme of my page.

APRIL CHALLENGE MOOD BOARD - AWESOME

Hi lovely scrappers, CAROLEANNE here with you today with my take on our latest challenge here at Berry71Bleu entitled SPRING FLING.

This month the challenge is anything to do with Nature/Spring.

I know my layout may look a bit mad but it is covered in flowers which reminds me of spring and I used the violet colour from the mood board. It is a scrap lift from a video I saw on Youtube inspired by Finnibair. https://www.youtube.com/user/ByFinnabair

HERES HOW 
I first cut out the ladies image from the set of digi files from Marivic and glued it onto my background paper.
Then using hot glue I went crazy with adding lots of flowers, metal bits, chipboard pieces, pearls and buttons.
When everything was glued on I covered the whole thing in white Gesso. Then I dried it with my heat tool. I then started spraying like crazy with my mists! (Cover the ladies face first though). Then just add the lace, title and the cameo. Done.
I hope you like it.

HERES HOW

Take a 5x7 inch card blank and cover the front with gingham paper

Matt the digi file bunny onto pink card 

Die cut a lacy rectangle, add matted photo

Adhere to the card front

Die cut another lacy piece, adhere to the corner

Start decorating with lots of assorted flowers

Die cut some lacy leaves, attach

Add butterflies, twine bow, fuzzy fibres and  stick pins etc.

Memories, It was the Perfect Day - Guest Designer - Anna Rogalska

Hello Everyone

We have a really amazing Guest Designer today and I know that she is probably no stranger to many of you! She is an amazing creator and one that I really admire! Welcome Anna Rogalska.

Hi Everyone! I'm Anna Rogalska. I live in Poland. I am a landscape architect, scrapbooker and in my spare time I am a keen runner. I've been scrapbooking for nearly 7 years. My scrapping style is a little bit of everything, romantic, shabby and mixed media. I love to try new techniques!

I make layouts, cards, tags and altered items. I am definitely a flower addict! I absolutely love flowers, chipboard, stencils and paints which are usually incorporated in most of my layouts.

I'd like to share with you a project I made for the April fun challenge called "Spring Fling". Cherry Blossoms are some of the most beautiful flowers, coming in bright colors. Blossom is a sure sign that spring has arrived.

The beautiful papers are from Prima and Bo Bunny. I've made my background using a stencil, stamps and different mediums. I've added pictures of cherry blossom to this layout and a lot of spring flowers. Hope you’ll enjoy!
