All About Mom - Pay tribute to your own mom or create a project based on your own thoughts & feelings about being a mom.

My layout is all about my wishes for my children, I have used some great quote stickers from 7 Dots Studio to share some of my hopes and wishes for my children: "dream without fear", "love without limits", "why stop dreaming?". I chose a photo of my girls and I much younger (and me much thinner!) and used gorgeous 7 Dots Studio paper.

Here you can see the gorgeous rectangular striped rectangle chippie and heart confetti I used from Um Wow Studio I also used a gorgeous Handmade flower from a Zeus and Zoe kit I purchased.

Another fun Zeus and Zoe jeweled embellishment here, along with some flowers from my stash and more Um Wow Studio heart confetti. I used a mask and some Shimmerz Texturez to add some texture to my layout. Behind the tag are a few private thoughts about motherhood and my two gorgeous girls. Heart like Yours Canvas by Marie Johansson

Being a mother is really something special. A lifetime of responsibilities and worries but also a life filled with joy and endless love. My two kids is the best thing that ever happened to  me and I can´t imagine life without them in it.  

When I got my first child - Max now 11 yo - my mother said to me that what every you do - put yourself first. A happy mother is a better mother than one that sacrifices her own personality for her children. I often think about what she said. Many of my so called friends love their kids but has turned into bitter ladies that just nag about everything. They do not have any "own" interests left, just keeping the household in shape. I do have a really messy house, we do eat out a lot, and my windows are so dirty that you can´t see trough them - but I embrace life and the things I love. I craft. I exercise. I go to fancy restaurants and I have time to fool around with my kids on the lawn. Thank YOU MOM for the advice you gave me 11 years ago.

Adorable by Dana Tatar - All About Mom May Challenge

Hi Berry71Bleu fans! Dana Tatar here today sharing my take on Kay's "All About Mom" Challenge. My sister recently gave birth to her fourth child, which brings my total of nieces and nephews to 6. I created this layout as a gift for my sister and sweet Peninah.

I painted UmWowStudio Layered Chipboard Hearts with acrylic paint and used them both layered and singly as embellishments.

Altered Book Canvas by Denise van Deventer

Hello Everyone

It's Denise here today with a book canvas, which I made for my Mother for Mothers Day tomorrow.

This is obviously also tied in with Kay's gorgeous mood board this month.

~ May challenge Mood Board ~

So here's the book canvas that I made.

I took an old book, folded it open and then stuck it down onto the canvas.

Then I took lots and lots of gesso and applied this in and around the book, also along the pages and down the middle spine to keep the book open and in place.

Once this had all dried, then I used my wood grain stamps and inks and paints to colour the canvas and book, to give it that old world feel.

I used the very pretty Graphic 45 Place in Time papers.

The circle chipboard pieces and the little Scarab beetle are from UmWow Studio.

I crackled the circle chipboards and then heavily weathered them with sandpaper. 

The little Scarab was painted and highlighted with acrylic paints.

The resin heart is from Prima and was coloured with Distress Paint.

I used lots of pretty Petaloo flowers and die-cut leaves.  Underneath you might just be able to see the Celebr8 chipboard leaves that were also painted and highlighted with acrylic paints.

Along with the book canvas I made a little card to go with it.  I can actually tuck it between the pages of the book.

This project was really one of the most enjoyable projects I have done for ages and so easily came together.  I really hope my Mother likes it.

My Mother is quite a bit older than I am and I have not really had a very close relationship with her.  But I do love her very much and I appreciate all the little things that she does for me and my family!

Hello Arty Souls!

Sylwia here with my May project which celebrates new and incredible time in my life- motherhood.... My babygirl is 11 months and I am loving every minute with her! She full fills me completely...I have to say that motherhood its challenging at times but when you see the love in child's eyes...you just forget about whole world and you let this extraordinary feeling to bloom ...

All About Mom - May2015 Challenge by Kay

Welcome to May Berry71Bleu fans!  Kay here hosting this month's challenge.  For this month I felt that mom & the concept of motherhood needed a well deserved tribute.  In several parts of the world, including the United States, May is the month where we celebrate Mother's Day.  With this in mind--the challenge for May is: 

All About Mom - Pay tribute to your own mom or create a project based on your own thoughts & feelings about being a mom.

The mood board was created with several thoughts & quotes on mom or motherhood along with photos that I felt represented the bond between a mother & child.

So here I am with my own little guy.  He's my one & only & I can't even put into words how complete he made me once he came into this world.  There's not one day that he doesn't make me smile or forget about my worries.  All he has to do is hug me & all my stress is gone.  I still find it amazing to see a little part of me running around--he's got my eyes, my sense of humor & my wit.  He's a small version of me & he encourages me to stay young at heart & reminds me of the innocence of child hood on a daily basis.  

Being a mom is a very fulfilling emotion mixed in with anticipation--since I wonder daily about the man he's going to grow up to be--joy, love & a pinch of fear since I worry daily if I'll be equipped to get him adequately prepared for all the obstacles, ups & downs he'll encounter along this long journey we call 'Life'.

For my layout I've used papers from the 'Classique - Beauty' collection by Authentique.  The collection consists of grays, blacks & yellows--I added the red to give my page a bold splash of color.

I've incorporated a few square chipboard pieces by Um Wow Studio as embellishments.  I left the chipboard pieces bare because I felt they coordinated fine with my page--these chipboard pieces can be altered to your liking if needed.  They can be heat embossed, painted, misted, glittered...etc...

I chose this saying 'forever & more' because it represents how long I plan on being there for him.  Even when he's old & gray--he'll still be my little guy.  :-)

This butterfly embellishment is hand made by yours truly.  This is a tid-bit from my Etsy shop & is part of the 'Sentiment on Wings' collection.  I felt that the saying 'You are my sunshine' was so very appropriate for the theme of my page.
