Yellow Butterfly by Mandy

Happy Hello Berry71Bleu Friends!

Today It's my turn to share my take on this month's fun and beautiful "Yellow" challenge!  I made this mixed media canvas for a friend.  She recently celebrated her birthday and I figured a "Summer" theme canvas would be a perfect gift!

I added the beautiful chipboard supplied to the design team by Blue Fern Studios! Thank you!

I cut the the  intricate scroll-work chipboard piece and off set it below the photo.

I surrounded the photo with the beautiful chipboard butterflies!

I added various soft pastel colors to accent the soft yellow hues!

I used Tattered Angels mists and various brands of water colors.

Try to add various colors of yellow - a very universal and provocative color! And in the shades of honey can make a very delicate projects! You can create cards, layouts, mixed media projects, tags, altered projects and more!

Fun In The Sun Layout By Kay

Hello fellow Berry71Bleu fans!  Kay here with my take on this month's challenge.  It's all about the color yellow this month.  Whenever yellow is thrown as a challenge to me--the first thing I always tend to think about is summer!  Bright sun, beaches, sand, ocean, waves, hot weather etc...so that's exactly the approach I took for this month's bright challenge!  I went with a summer/beach themed page featuring my sun having a little fun in the sun.

Here's this month's mood board hand picked by this month's challenge host Tanya.

All papers used are by Authentique.  The design of my page is based on a fabulous sketch by The Nifty Pixel.

The circle chipboard frames are by this month's sponsor Blue Fern Studios.  To give the chipboard that shimmer I first painted them with gesso, next I applied red/orange acrylic paint & finally I heat embossed them with Star Dust clear embossing powder.  The embossing powder is what gives the chipboard that fabulous shimmer effect.

Underneath each of my flower clusters I tucked a sea shell & a bit of dried moss.  I like the effect the moss gave the overall layout--it gave the layout more of a 'beach' feeling.  At least it did for me!  :-)

August Challenge layout by Elena Lishchenko

Hey everyone! Here am I, Elena  with my new layout. Today I would like to share my inspiration with you.

Summertime athmosphere of delicacy gave me the idea of making something elegant. I took bytterflies for the symbol of this summer mood. I used wonderful chipboard from the Blue Fern Studios Gabrielle Butterfly Set  that I used to create unusual and delightful backround of my layout. I painted it with the yellow acrilic paint.

Owing to Tanya's mood board I choosed these amazing colours for my work.

Dreams are For Chasing: August Challenge Layout by Cathi

Hi! Cathi here and I'd love to share my take on Tanya's Yellow Mood Board Challenge. I used some gorgeous 7 Dots Studios papers and stickers for this layouts as well as the stunning Blue Ferns Studio Fancy Signage chipboard.

Here you can see the detail on the Blue Ferns Chipboard. I inked the piece with Crushed Olive Distress Ink and Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges. I used the Visible Image Bronte Border for the script stamp details and fussy cut a photo of my daughter doing what she loves best, dancing en pointe!! I just love the Prima resin pointe shoes, they are just perfect for this!

I love the cutout title Dreams are For Chasing, part of the 7 Dots Studio Verano Azul collection. The background paper is from the Christmas Yuletide collection! I tucked in a few rub on images from Tim Holtz on the layout, added some black ink splatters, some masking and some stamping to the background.

I have my daughter dancing around the gorgeous Blue Ferns Studios chipboard column. I have added some Petaloo flowers around the layout including one for her little tutu!! The stickers are from yet another new collection from 7 Dots Studios, Lost and Found...all inspirations for my daughter who has decided to hang this one up in her room!
