Are you enjoying your week so far? Well I really had a fun moment at my craft table playing around in my art journal the other night. I wanted to try and do interpretation of Päivi´s sketch there instead of making the obvious layout. I think it turned out really great. Using blues was not hard at all...

I have used a Brick stencil from Scrap FX to create texture. Glimmer & Baseboard Mists from Tattered Angels are great for adding colors and the perfect amount of shimmer. I used the colors Jack Frost & Patina of the Glimmer Mists, and the Sky Baseboard Mist.

The beautiful and detailed brushes and comes from two patterned papers Canvas Home Basics Heirloom Collection - Brushes on Ivory & Pen on Ink on Ivory. The quality of these papers are really the best. They work really well for cutting out, and as here, glued down and sealed with Soft Gloss Gel.

Today & Always ATC cards by Virág

Hi Crafty Friends!

I prepared two ATC cards for our September challenge.
For the base of the cards I cut a paper bag and than I glued them together.
After that I cut strips from blue papers with different patterns. On our monthly mood board there are stars so I stamped some of them in several styles.

We are happy to announce, that we have one new Design Team member :) Here she is :)

My name is Bea and I live in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. 

I work as a purchasing manager, but the most important thing in my life is my family (guess it's not a unique thing :)).

I met with scrapbooking after a year of my little daughter's birth in 2014. She is now 3,5 years old and usually she is in the center of my creations.

I was very happy to find myself in mixed media. I always loved creative things, but I wasn't very good in it. But I feel that scrapbooking suits me . I really enjoy it: the process of creating (including the mess and dirty hands :D) and the upshot as well.

Scrapbook moms usually says that scrapbooking is a calm island, and this hobby is where they can split from the child rearing for a couple of hours. Well, it's not true about me :) There is always a little hand who wants to help me, or always asking what I am doing and why (why is repeted at least 3 times). Sometimes it's hard, but I am glad that she enjoys scrapbooking too and I can share with her this experience (and I have to tale you that she use modelling paste perfectly, even I never show her the how to  - you can watch her tutorial video on my Youtube channel - yes, we had to record it)

This is one of the biggest thing in my scrapbook life to be here with you as a guest designer. I would like to thank you the opportunity, and hope you will love my inspirations.

Add something blue - September 2016 challenge

Can you believe it is September already?

  

I love sketches and I love blue so since it is my turn, Päivis, to host this months challenge I thought I´ll join theese two.

So, this months challenge is a sketch with a theme "Add something blue". The blue can be just a little blue flower or lots of blue paint on your project. It is up to you. You can twist and turn the sketch but we would love to see the sketch on your project.

Since I love blue I added quite a lot of blue on my layout.

 I live in Northern Sweden not that far from The Artic Circle. This photo is taken last spring in Finland near the Artic circle.

My project for the August moodboard by Jessika is all about the unique surroundings of where I live. The nature here is amazing - a combination of endless sea, steep mountains, wild rivers and green forests. You can find several old historical buildings and villages. The area is a big source of inspiration and a lot of artists has settled to live here. 

I made this layout with a picture of one of the bridges in Olofsfors Bruk. I love the colors and they fit SO well with the moodboard. I have used a paper from 7 Dots Studio together with Glimmer Mitst from Tattered Angels, Chipboard from Scrap FX, Flair from Um Wow Studio and stamps from 7gypsies, Prima and 7 Dots Studio. I really love how it turned out!

“Hi my name is Maria Calderone from Maria Lina’s Creative Designs, I am honored to be guest designing for this month’s mood board challenge, thank you to the team for having me on.

 

I am very blessed to be married to a wonderful man who supports me through and through and to be a mom to my 4 wonderful boys and our Boxer pup. I was born and raised in New Jersey, but currently reside in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. I love creating and designing anything I can get my hands on, I started as a paper crafter in 2012 and have progressed since and love it. I love creating with altered art and mixed media pieces, but honestly, anything goes. I have a wide range of styles, but I tend to lean more towards vintage shabby chic.

As for this month’s mood challenge I was inspired to create a tag as a last hoorah to the “soon ending” summer season and welcoming to the “soon beginning ” fall season. The Dylusions stamp set was the perfect touch to the mood and inspiration behind the tag, the wording couldn’t be better.”
