Guest Designers for March
Welcome to our Guest Designers...
Jaz Lee
I am Jaz Lee from Singapore. I am a SAHM with 3 precious crazy adorable kiddos. They are my source of inspirations most of the time.
I have been scrapping for 4years now and loving every moment of it. I have also ventured into teaching and it is definitely a great feeling to be able to share what I love to do most with people out there and seeing all the smiles. It is amazing how this scrapbooking journey of mine has brought me so many friends. I had an awesome opportunity to conduct a class in Japan, Osaka in 2010 and Malaysia in 2011. I am a designer and an educator at LSS Laine's Papeterie and Papermarket, whereby I design and teach every month.
My work,I will say, I don't have one definite style, but if I have to describe it, I would describe it as a "beautiful mess". I like to clutter the page up with papers and embellishments into one organized piece. And I always think it is exhilarating to have the freedom to greet each piece of work as a challenge, to think up new ideas and be as creative as possible.
I love pretty papers and lovely vintage embellishments, therefore when I was invited by Marivic to be the GDT for March, I was so excited. Thank you so much for this awesome opportunity. .I hope to spread the love and faith of scrapbooking through my work.
Marilyn Rivera
Hi!! I'm Marilyn Rivera and I live in Puerto Rico a Tropical island in the Caribbean with my husband Israel(we've been 20 years married) and my two teenagers Alexander and Paola Sofia. I'm a Fashion Designer so during the day I'm surrounded by fabrics, sewing machines, threads and dress forms and when I'm not playing with fabrics, it's with papers...I love to create! In my pages you will see a lot of techniques that I made in my work(dresses) like a pleat or a draping. I love mix papers with fabrics, lace, feathers and pearls ...feminine touches are important on my pages. My sister Karen introduced me to this beautiful hobby 4 years ago and I Loved it immediately!!!I and now It's a therapy for me! You can see my work...http://marilynrivera.blogspot.com/....Thank you Maviric for this great opportunity!!!!
Here is a Flower tutorial from Marilyn:
It's Marilyn here...I would like to show you how I altered these flowers that come in different sizes to give them dimension and a real look.
These are the flowers and they come in different sizes. I'm going to use for each altered flower three of these flowers in two different sizes.
For example: 2 medium flowers and 1 large flower or 2 small flowers and 1 medium flower.
I made a 1/8 hole in the center of each flower.
Then I cut along each petal in each flower.
I added some tiny pearls in the center of the flower and put a bit of adhesive.
Then started to give form with my fingers...
The result...
I punched the 1/8 hole in the middle of the big flower.
Put the altered flower inside the big one.
Add a bit of adhesive.
This is the result.
And this is how the altered flowers look.
Hugs,
Marilyn

Secret Garden Altered Memory Box Based On The Once Upon A Sketch March Challenge
Have you heard? Berry71Bleu is the sponsor of the March Sketch Challenge over at Once Upon A Sketch , so I invite you to come play along for a chance at one of the prizes that are being given away.
One of the prizes that will be randomly chosen by entry is this GORGEOUS handmade tag from Berry71Bleu. Here is an example of the kind of tag you could receive.
You can choose to do a layout and journaling based on the sketch, or an altered item that includes a quote. I chose to do an Altered Memory Book Box, and my quote on it reads, "A mother's love is peace, it need not be acquired, it need not be deserved.# ~ Errich Fromm
Here is the sketch:
And Here Is My Take On The Sketch:
I used lots of inks and stains on the papers and Doilies to give them a vintage look. The Secret Garden Butterflies are from my Etsy Shop.
I created the look of old worn pages, through layers of modeling paste that I textured and then inked and stained in multiple layers.
I got the look of a worn book binding from Lisa Novogrodski's (Raining) Masking Tape Tutorial over at Scraps Of Darkness. I loved this technique when I saw a project that Lisa made using her fabulous tutorial, and I just had to recreate it. Instead of masking tape, I used Tim Holtz Tissue Tape and I love how it turned out. Thank you Lisa!!
This is the back of the book box. I wanted to give it the look of an old, love worn book so I used multiple layers of ink, distress paints, stains and stamping.
I just love how easy Marivic's Berry Bleu Tags make putting together a beautiful project. I love how this book box turned out, and I love that you let me share it with you!! ~Renea

New Design Team Members for Berry71bleu
Meet our New Design Team Members. You will see their fabulous work in April.
Agnieszka of Bellaidea
Poland/Canada
My name is Agnieszka but in the scrapbooking world I go by Bellaidea.
I scrapbook for many reasons: to preserve memories, to make my kids remember I always care about them, to have MY time when I need it, to keep in touch with all my scrap-friends all over the world. My style is ecletic, partly romantic with a touch of whimsy. I like to use lace, chipboards, doilies, turned corners, fussy cutting, etc but never forget the most important is the photo and a story.
I love experimenting and trying out new techniques when I create a new page. I`m into misting, stamping, stitching, handcutting, distressing and layering. I also like editing photos. I like layouts with one photo the most, sometimes I just add 1-2 small ones. A 12x12 is my favorite size. I love challenges and every now and again challenges likes me:)
Sometimes I hide my journaling when it`s very personal...
I design for several websites and manufacturers. I also collect all kind of items for altering.
I was very lucky in 2011 I had about 20 pages published and have new ones accepted for publication. I miss teaching a lot so it`s something I want to start again in 2012. I`m open for propositions:)You can visit me anytime!
I know Berry71Bleu for a long time and I`m so happy and thankful for this stunning oportunity to design for Marivic.
Amanda Aveiro

Aloha! My name is Amanda Aveiro (Qween of the Crop in the virtual world) and I live in Olympia Washington with my husband of 19 years, two teenage children and three dogs...I have been scrapping for about five years – mostly gifts for other people – only in the past year or so have I started to do projects for myself. I am truly passionate about this art form and firmly believe that it is a great way of preserving memories and sharing them with others. Photos do not belong in a box on a shelf or in a file on a computer – they should be displayed where everyone can enjoy them and reminisce. I am beyond excited to be on the Berry71bleu design team and I want to thank Marivic for this awesome opportunity! Lets get scrapping!!!
Cathy Cafun
Australia
Hi, my name is Cathy Cafun. I live in Queensland, Australia with my husband of 25 years and 2 teenage children. Scrapping has been part of my life for about 7 years now and it’s an all-consuming passion!! I’m not sure of my style, but I do love Shabby Chic/Vintage and am very partial to the grungy distressed look. My inspiration usually starts with photos of my family, and I just let my creations flow from there, but I also find inspiration from browsing blogs, online galleries & mags and all the ever-changing & exciting products out there. My creations usually have elements of texture and dimension and I find fussy cutting, layering and distressing a wonderful way to achieve this. I really enjoy experimenting with new techniques and am loving mixed media at the moment.Currently, I am designing for, Meg’s Garden, Scrapmatts & Bird is the Word and have had my work published in Scrapbooking Memories and Scrapbooking Creations.
Over the years scrapbooking has provided me with a wonderful way to express myself creatively whilst being able to record all those precious family memories for my children and hopefully my grandchildren one day.I have been a big fan of Marivic’s gorgeous tags for a while now and am so excited to have been asked to be part of her amazingly talented Design Team. I can’t wait to be able to inspire you all with her little pieces of art! Here is my blog if you would like to pop in and say hello: MY BLOG

I am married for almost 3 years, with my gorgeous greek husband, hens the reason we live in Greece. No children or pets, that is still work in progress. Helen Tilbury
South Africa
Hello there, my name is Helen Tilbury and you can find my blog at http://helentilbury.blogspot.com/. I live in Durban, South Africa and have done so for the last 6 years, being originally from Zimbabwe, a little country neighbouring South Africa to the North. I have been scrapbooking for the last 8 years but only seriously for the last 4 years, since I discovered the online scrapbooking world and got HOOKED! Now I create, not only to record the memories, but also to be a part of such a vibrant international community of fellow papercrafting artists and for the Sake of the art itself, which I find so enjoyable!
I am 44 years old, have been married to my sweetheart for 21 years and we share 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls, aged 18, 16, 14 and 11, as well as 3 cats. These are the people and creatures that are the subjects of most of my pages, although the girls get scrapbooked more because I simply cannot resist all the beautiful scrapbooking supplies available that cater to the feminine style, my favourite! I like to surround my little studio with pretty things like lace, doilies and rhinestones, layering my pages up until I feel satisfied! Like enjoying a good meal!! I also love to create cards and altered/off the page items at times, especially for handmade gifts, and would love for you to pop into my blog to say hello and see everything else that I am up to! I love international visitors as it feels like a vacation for me to blog hop “around the world!” I am on various other Design teams, all of which you can find in the sidebar of my blog. Keren Tamir
Canada
My name is Keren Tamir and I'm 37 years old. I am a wife to a wonderful
husband who is very supportive of my scrapbooking hobby and a mother of two
amazing kids; a 10 year old boy and a 5 years old girl. I've been scrapbooking for 7 years and I mainly scrapbook about our family. I love to create and experiment with many different mediums and techniques and I get inspiration from many places. I love my camera and I’m always taking pictures everywhere I go. I believe my style is shabby chic vintage and romantic. I love designing with flowers, butterflies, doilies and lace. I scrapbook mainly layouts however I do love making mini-albums and just recently I began making different altered projects. Every once in a while I like getting a little grungy and distressing my
pages with many paints, mists and inks. My style is always evolving and that’s one of the things I love about this hobby.
One of the main reasons why I started scrapbooking was to preserve memories
and photos for my children and grandchildren. However in this past year, I’ve started to enjoy another aspect of scrapbooking. I love the artistic outlet that it gives me. It has become an obsession, a healthy addiction which helps me relax in life. I love it so much and I hope to scrapbook for many years to come!! I’m very happy to be part of the Berry71bleu Design Team.

Renea Harrison
Tennessee
Hi everyone! I am a 44 year old, stay at home Mom. I laugh when I say stay at home, because I actually am the secretary/accountant and jack of all trades for our local family based business.
I don't just love scrapbooking, I am passionate about it. I love every aspect of this amazing multi-media art. The art of the creation itself, from taking the design in my head and getting it out onto the paper, to the social aspect of it. I love sharing what I know, and learning what others share. I love talking about it, as well as encouraging others to take that leap and dive right in. I have quickly become a forum junky and I love the sisterhood aspect of all who share in this experience.
I would also like to shout out a thanks to both my husband and son. They not only put up with my scrapbook insanity, but encourage me to pursue my passion. I have been married to my husband for over 21 years, and he has always been, not only the love of my life, but my biggest supporter in all aspects of my life. We have built a wonderful life together, and have raised an amazing son. God has definitely blessed me beyond anything I could have imagined!

I started making layouts in September 2010 and have been obsessed ever since. My kids are the main source of inspiration for my work and are the primary subjects of my layouts. I can't say I have a certain style because I don't limit myself to one style, I choose a photograph or paper line and adapt accordingly! I love to experiment and challenge myself with new techniques and textures! My work has been published in scrapbooking magazines and I have been a designer for several blogs and on line shops! I like to share my work with others and hopefully inspire and encourage some people to try something new! I LOVE scrapbooking and I can't imagine myself without it! Thank you Marivic for giving me this awesome opportunity! It is an honor!!!

Marivic Clifton
Houston, Texas
"Hi, I am Marivic and I am behind Berry71bleu.
I love paper crafting and collecting vintage findings. I love the shabby chic, romantic French cottage designs. Most of my creations are based on vintage or victorian theme.
I am happily married with 3 children. I am a stay-at-home (with background in the medical field) and I work in my studio in between taking care of my 2 small kids. I also have a son who is now a sophomore in college.
I had been crafting since I was a young girl. I always find a way to repurpose something. My husband thinks I am a hoarder, I could not let go of those little things. It could be a fancy tag label from clothing, paper coasters from restaurants, tickets from parks, zoo, museums and so on. I keep them because they are as memorable as the pictures taken during those moments.
I am very glad to have met so many great people through this hobby. I have met a lot of good friends and learned so many things from people I meet online everyday.
I started making these tags as a display on my desk cork board. I kinda liked how it truned out and now I sell them on etsy and I also get custom orders for it. It is an easy embellishment to any crafting projects, the tags are full embellishments and it is basically "attach and you're done". I love all my DT members old and new..They have created a new world out there for my creations and they always take it to the next level. That's why I am very thankful for all their hard work.
You can visit my other blog:A PAPER'S PURPOSE to see what my life is like".
Pls. come visit us often on the blog. We have lots inspiration, ideas, monthly challenges, new friends to meet, and giveways too.
Welcome to our new DT Members!

My name is Vicky Varvadouka, I am a happily married mum of two little girls (Nefeli 4 & Ioli 2) and I work in a big company in Greece. Scrapbooking is my passion and a way to express my self!
