Wild Life by Denise van Deventer

Hello Everyone

Welcome to Friday! I hope that you have had an excellent week so far and that the upcoming weekend is a super one!

It's my turn today to share my page for Pattern Palooza - Dana's challenge for this month.

Join our July Challenge and show us your patterns and prints! Just be sure to include at least 3 different patterns on your creation.

So here is the page that I created.

Recently we went on a family weekend away to a beautiful place called Dullstroom and this picture was taken on the first evening, just as the sun was setting.  The colouring was so amazing and with the winter coloured grass and trees, just made for a beautiful photo. This little town and surroundings is know for it's fly fishing and so that was one of the reasons we went there.

I used lots of patterns in the form of the patterned papers, the washi tape and the various stamps and stencils that I used. It's very much a boy page and so all of these patterns just add some lovely interest around the page.

I used these gorgeous little trees from Jelly Park digi stamp. I coloured them with pencil shavings.  I know this is a really old technique, but one that I still really love and if one doesn't always have too many shades of a certain colour in inks, then pencils are perfect. These very same pencils, Aquarell, are the one's used to create my watercolour background.  The crystals are from Molossi and were the perfect shade for this page too.

My journalling is the inspiration for the title of my page and says: "Look what I found at sunset...this little creature that was happy to sit in the fading sunlight and catch the last few rays of warmth!"
I can also tell you that once that sun disappears it is vital to start the cottage fires and get some warmth into the houses.  It is verrrrrry chilly at night!

The papers and chipboards are from the Autumn Song collection from BoBunny.
