 I live in Northern Sweden not that far from The Artic Circle. This photo is taken last spring in Finland near the Artic circle.

Here is a little about Maria.

“Hi my name is Maria Calderone from Maria Lina’s Creative Designs, I am honored to be guest designing for this month’s mood board challenge, thank you to the team for having me on.

 

I am very blessed to be married to a wonderful man who supports me through and through and to be a mom to my 4 wonderful boys and our Boxer pup. I was born and raised in New Jersey, but currently reside in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. I love creating and designing anything I can get my hands on, I started as a paper crafter in 2012 and have progressed since and love it. I love creating with altered art and mixed media pieces, but honestly, anything goes. I have a wide range of styles, but I tend to lean more towards vintage shabby chic.

As for this month’s mood challenge I was inspired to create a tag as a last hoorah to the “soon ending” summer season and welcoming to the “soon beginning ” fall season. The Dylusions stamp set was the perfect touch to the mood and inspiration behind the tag, the wording couldn’t be better.”

Altered "Explore" Box - Denise van Deventer

Hello Everyone

It's Denise here today to share my take on the August "Summer Hideaway" challenge.

I created something a little different..an altered "Explore" Box.

This is sort of a "man" box that can be used to store little treasures...whatever he likes.

So a little bit of a man hideaway too! ;-)

I had this little VW for ages and thought it would be perfect for the cover of this box.

I used the Take a Hike and Dreamer Collections from BoBunny for all the other little bits.

August Mood Board Challenge - Summer Hideaway - Party Fun

Hi everyone, CAROLE  here with you today with our fabulous August Mood Board Challenge - SUMMER HIDEAWAY by the lovely Jessica Lundman. 

This is a brilliant mood board, I hope you have a go. 

HERES HOW 

Matt photo onto some card or pretty paper, attach foam pads to back, lay down in centre of page

Adhere some green mesh behind the photo

Adhere photo

Paint some white brick chipboard then when dry add a little brown ink, adhere to either side of photo

Stamp and die cut some flowers and leaves, add stamens, adhere 

Add some fibres for texture

Paint the title chipboard piece and emboss, adhere

Add a few layers in cream and cream cardstock.

"Summer hideaway" - August 2016 challenge

This month is all about celebrating your very own special summer hideaway. Maybe you have a summer home, a caravan, a loved garden or maybe you just love to sneak away with a good book to the beach. Whatever your special place is during the summer is we would love to see you create about it.

I love my hometown during the summer, Skellefteå (Sweden). It comes alive in such a wonderful way.!

On this layout I have used black gesso and black ink. The dark red rose and the leaves are colored with Tattered angels glimmer glaze. There is also a little green watercolor pencils on the background and a few round stickers.

If you look closely on the photo you can see my oldest son standing on the L and E :)
