Hey there crafty souls! I´m here today showing you my art journal spred made with inspiration from this months challenge created by Bea Musci.

I took up on the colors and descided to add strong black rings as contrast. The background where created with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and the black rings by simply dipping a lid into black heavy gesso. Shine Bright stamp from Indigo Blu.

Birds in Spring Canvas by Marie Johansson

Sometimes a project does not have to be simple even though it looks like that. This canvas looks rather simple to do, but I promise you - it took me hours to complete it. 

When I found this great piece of paper from Tattered Angels Mixed Media Orgins I knew it was a perfect match for our May Moodboard. The birds, the flowers and the spring quote summon the feeling of it.

I fussy cut out the focal piece from the paper and then painted it with shades of Tattered Angels Mist. When working with a water brush the mists work as water colors. The result is really good, but it takes time to get the right shades and layers. Well I am happy with the result and hope that you also like it.

Let your light show canvas by Marie Johansson

I found Laneens moodboard really inspiring and decided to make a canvas using crackle paste and lot of textures.

I used a stretched canvas from Canvas Corp that I covered with heavy white gesso, stamping, and crackle paste. To get the right rust effect I painted the edges of the canvas with Tattered Angels High Impact paint in the color Aqua before adding the crackle paste.

I also dry brushed on different shades of Glimmer Mists to add more dept to the rust effect. The finishing touch is the tulip from 7gypsies Architextures. The tulip comes from the Parchment Rub-on sheet "Grow", the is one of my new product loves! The sentiment was cut out from the packaging.

Pride & Joy Tag by Marie Johansson

I´m here today with a romantic tag created with inspiration from the February Moodboard. I must admit that the colors was hard to me - soft pinks and neutrals is something I seldom us - but hey - I love a challenge.

I had these really beautiful papers from Green Cat Story that fitted perfect for this project. Together with flowers and a chipboard wordlet from Scrap FX they add the perfect romantic touch to the tag.

"A PoP of Colour" January 2017 Challenge

Welcome to the Year of 2017! Our first challenge is filled with colors - let the beginning of your 2017 Sparkle! 

I decided to make a Art Journal page inspiered by the colors in the Moodboard. I did go a little wild with my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.... 

Love how the feathers turned out. I stamped with the feather stamp from 7 Dots Studios Fortune Teller stamp set, then embossed with two bright colors. If you look close you can see the scribbles I made with my white Posca pen.

Frame stamp & word stickers also from 7 Dots Studio. All mist splatters made with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists & Simply Sheer Mist.

Joyeux Noel Card by Marie Johansson

I´m here today to wish a Merry Christmas with a card made for this months Challenge.

I found Bea´s moodboard really inspiering - the pictures remind me about how I remember the winters from my childhood, with a LOT of snow and cold, crisp weather. I truly think we need to take the global warming seriously - I live up in Northern Sweden, and we have NO sign of snow so far - I mean  - it should be here since months back...

I created this card with a compination of papers from Canvas Corp & 7 Dots Studio. The brands play really well togheter for sure! To add extra dimension I used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and sparkly stones. 

Love the details of the sleigh from the Canvas Corp paper...

And the sword stickers from 7 Dots Studio is a must have!

Trust/Belive/Inspire ATC´s by Marie Johansson

I love the color combination this month! Blues is my fav color combo - not only when it comes to crafting - it goes for my clothing as well. This month my project is a set of ATC´s. I love how they turned out actually.... 

By using water colors in combination with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and a embossed butterfly the background got a airy look. For me it looks like the sky. I stamped and embossed the same butterfly with black embossing powder, fussy cut and then applied it on top of the Scrap FX chipboard to get dimension. Glass glitter and micro beads from Finnabair add extra texture.
