Love is Sweet by Denise van Deventer

Hello Everyone

Welcome to Friday! I hope that your week has been a good one, so far!

It's my turn, Denise, to share my page for this month's challenge, Things we Love.

I created a little board of the things that I love! ;-)

This just gives you a little taste of the things I love!

Here is the layout that I created about one of those loves - Love is Sweet! (A little play on words)

Marivic had sent me a gorgeous "cake" themed tag and so it was perfect for this challenge.

Here is a close-up of the tag from the Zeus and Zoe etsy shop.

I also used some blingy bits from Molossi.

I created the background with one of my favourite stencils, gesso and watercolouring.  I used the Vintage Chic Collection papers from Heidi Swapp.

I did the journalling around the page and this is what it says:

"Admittedly, I have a bit of a sweet tooth and I really do love a decadent cake or pudding.  When one can treat oneself, with a little something sweet, why absolutely not?! My thoughts are that life can be bitter enough and that a little treat can sweeten any day.  Marie Antoinette was a woman after my own heart!!!" ;-)

Hi! Dana here today sharing a layout about the thing that I love the most -- music -- for the September "Things We Love" Challenge. I don't know how I would get through my day without it. I used memorabilia from the last concert I attended, a ticket stub and partial set list, as well as a vintage CD shard from one of my favorite albums that dates back to 1994. To stay that my Father didn't always understand by choice in music is a bit of an understatement! The lyrics to the songs performed by Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails are just as cathartic to me today as they were when I was a teenager. It was absolutely amazing to hear both bands on the same night.

I tucked a digital tag created by Marivic behind layers of vintage papers from a Zeus and Zoe Kit. The gorgeous piece of doily chipboard is from Scrapiniec and the bright yellow sticker is from the 7 Dots Studio Hopefully collection. The fabulous music print paper is from the 7 Dots Studio Nature Walk collection.

This fun chipboard speech bubble is also from Scrapiniec. I included a quote from Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) under this photo of Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails). Most of my favorite musicians are not afraid to write about their darkest moments. The comfort that I get from hearing and relating to their words is hard to express and definitely priceless.

This doily was included in my Zeus and Zoe Kit. I topped it with a 7 Dots Studio sticker and a stunning butterfly from Kay's Etsy Shop. I included more personal journaling down the right side of the page.

Sweet Happy Moments by Marivic

Today I am sharing with you the project I made using August Sketch by Sandra.

The carousel is from our sponsor this month, Creative Embellishments

I primed with gesso, let it dry. I painted the roof with white and pink acrylic paint. The horses I painted with Cafe Latte twinkling H2O. I let it dry and applied crackle glaze accent on the roof to get the old vintage look.

This is another project I made using Chantal Vandenberg cute felt embellishments.

This tag is a prize that I am giving away this month.

If you have clicked on one of my creations and smiled then I consider my work a success! My name is Chantal and I live in beautiful Adelaide, South Australia. I began scrapbooking 5 years ago and since then I've never looked back.
